PERM ZONE

We recruit a lot of permanent roles across the FMCG sector and the process can vary depending on the client. This section is designed to highlight the most common process you can expect along with some useful hints and tips and how we like to work with you, the candidate, through this process.

01

Vacancy briefing

All client vacancies start with an initial recruiter briefing with either the hiring manager or someone within HR or Talent Acquisition. This is our opportunity to get as much useful information for you on the role specifics, what that hiring manager is looking for, both in terms of technical skill set and also what things look like beyond this role.

02

Candidate Approach & Initial discussion

We use multiple ways of finding candidates, most commonly through our network but we do also use LinkedIn searches and, depending on the role, sometimes a LinkedIn job advert.

Unfortunately for us, there are a lot of poor recruiters out there who take the blanket approach by sending out a high volume of messages hoping that someone will be interested. We do not take this approach. If we’ve sent you a message it’s because we’ve either heard from our network that you are someone we need to be speaking with about a specific role or your background and experience fit really well for the role we’re working on.

INTERVIEW

PReparation

Once we’ve arranged the interview for you, you'll get an email confirmation plus some interview prep documents for you to read through.

Then it’s time for our one-on-one prep session, which we believe is absolutely key to your success during any interview. It’s a focused, one hour session at least two days before the 1st interview and will consist of:

  • The do's and don’ts in the interview

  • A heads-up on the interviewer and their personality

  • A full run-through of what we know the interviewer will expect from you

  • A mock interview: CV walkthrough, why you want to leave your current employer, why you want to join the interviewer's business, strengths and weaknesses, etc.

  • Competency-based question practice

After the prep session you’ll still have a few bits to do yourself, there will be things to work on that we’ve highlighted but it’s also vital that you do your own research on the business, their cultural values, their financials, etc.

Interview Process

  • 1st stage

  • 2nd stage

  • Offer

This is typical though occasionally there may be a further stage if there's someone key to meet prior to appointment who wasn't there for the previous stages.

Head to the candidate resources section to find some more information on prepping for interviews with Talent Professionals.

Perm Process

We work with fewer clients than most agencies and know our clients really well so our promise is to offer valuable insights into what the hiring manager is like, what he or she looks for in the people in their team, the do’s and don’ts for the specific interviewer, what it’s like to work for their business (culture, progression, etc.) and salary banding information.  We see ourselves as an extension of their business so when you speak with John, you’ll gain an excellent understanding of what to expect that will stand you in good stead for your interview, and also help us decide together if this is the right fit for you.
